What does concierge medicine mean?
At ZüpMed, concierge medicine means we provide an unmatched, highly personalized healthcare experience. But, we do not require an annual fee like traditional concierge practices; instead, we offer a value-based membership program or a la carte pricing. Our model allows us to spend more time with you, provide personalized care, and ensure you are completely satisfied from booking your exam room to finishing your prescription.
Our model allows us to keep pricing simple, transparent, and focused on patient care rather than spending our time navigating insurance rules and restrictions.
-
If you do not accept insurance, then why do you ask for my insurance card to have on file?
We want you to get the most value for your healthcare dollar. In some cases like labs or vaccines, insurance may still be utilized.

Appointments & Scheduling
-
Can I walk in? Can I be seen without an appointment?
We schedule visits so we can have your room ready and you can avoid a crowded waiting room. Please call in advance for an appointment time. Because we have no waiting room, scheduling an appointment ensures your exam room is reserved specifically for you with zero wait time near the time of your arrival.
-
How do I schedule an appointment?
We can schedule an appointment for you over the phone (901-701-7010), or you can book online here: https://zupmed.com/schedule-appointment/
-
Is it easier for me to make an appointment online or over the phone?
Both are very easy! You can use our online scheduling tool anytime, or call our concierge at 901-701-7010 during business hours for personalized assistance: https://zupmed.com/schedule-appointment/
-
What types of services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of services including Urgent Care, Primary Care, Hormone Consultation (including menopause management), Wellness & Cosmetic treatments (like IV hydration and Botox), Pharmacogenetics, Cognitive Health, and a comprehensive Weight Loss Program.
-
How does it work here?
We operate as a concierge-style medical practice. You can be seen as a Member (which covers all urgent and primary care visits for a monthly fee) or as a non-Member Guest paying a flat rate per visit. All visits are by appointment to ensure zero wait times. We do not file insurance, but instead offer value-based transparent pricing for visits and a la carte services. At your request, we can provide a "Super Bill" that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.

-
Can you tell me what to expect for my appointment?
When you arrive, there is no waiting room. A concierge will greet you and take you directly to your private, beautifully appointed exam room featuring zero-gravity recliners. You'll then be seen promptly by our staff.
-
Can I talk to a provider real quick, or do I need an appointment?
Our clinical team is scheduled throughout the day with other patients, so it may be difficult to speak to them at the time you call. The front desk can get a message to the clinical team and you should hear back from your request by the end of the day. If not urgent, however, the best way to reach your provider is through a portal message.
-
Can I ask the pharmacist about my supplements or do I need an appointment?
You may catch any of our pharmacists throughout the day in the lobby, but they reserve specific time to provide in-depth, genetically- or laboratory-guided supplement advice by appointment. The best way to optimize your medications including supplements is to schedule an appointment with them.
-
I'm late—can I still be seen?
We'll check with the clinical team and do our best to accommodate you, but we may need to adjust your appointment. The exam room is reserved for you for the entire time slot. If you're going to be late, please let us know. We simply may not have as much time to spend together.
-
Which appointment types get scheduled with what person?
We match you with the right provider based on the type of visit you need:
- **Urgent Care visits** are seen by our Nurse Practitioners or Physicians - **IV Hydration Therapy** is administered by our experienced Nurse Practitioners - **Weight Loss visits** are overseen by Physicians, but you may see a combination of providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Pharmacists - **Annual exams, sports physicals and preoperative clearance exams** are performed by Nurse Practitioners or Physicians (you may request an MD if preferred) - **Medication management and ongoing therapy (including complex medication needs)** are handled by our Clinical Pharmacist team - **Genetic testing visits** are coordinated by our pharmacy team - **Hormone care visits** are managed by our Certified Menopause Providers, including both a PharmD and an OB/GYN - **Gut dysfunction or GI Map testing** is handled by one of our Pharmacists.
Our goal is to ensure you're paired with the provider best suited to your specific needs.
-
Can I request a physician (instead of a Nurse Practitioner)?
Yes, you can request to see a physician, subject to their availability. Our team includes both highly skilled physicians (Dr. Lloyd Finks, Dr. Michelle Sands, Dr. Hillary Hunt) and very experienced Nurse Practitioners under physician supervision.
-
Is the doctor available today?
Yes, a physician is available on most days and we're happy to check availability for you. If you prefer to see a physician specifically, please note that there is an additional surcharge for their time and expertise.
-
Can I request a particular Nurse Practitioner or Provider?
Yes, you can request to see a specific provider. For scheduling, you can visit our online booking platform at https://zupmed.com/schedule-appointment/. Some of our providers are not at the clinic every week day and as such, it may be helpful to call the front desk for scheduling when they are next available.
-
Which doctor can I see if I am 65 or older?
You can see most of our providers, including our nurse practitioners and pharmacists for medication issues. Dr. Michelle Sands has extensive experience in internal medicine and complex care for older adults.
-
Which doctor can see my child?
Our Family Nurse Practitioners are equipped and trained to handle most minor childhood illnesses and injuries. Dr. Hillary Hunt is double boarded in internal medicine and pediatrics.
-
Can my 17-year-old come alone to the clinic?
While your 17-year-old is old enough to drive him- or herself to the clinic, they must be 18 years of age or older to receive treatment without your approval. We'll ask for signed Consent to Treat on file by a parent or guardian for any minor. Please call our front desk for questions and assistance.
-
At what age do you need a health information release from parents inquiring about college aged kids?
Once a patient turns 18, they are legally an adult. We must have a signed HIPAA release form on file from the patient in order to discuss their health information with parents.
-
I have an appointment today for feeling sick. Is there anything I can do in the meantime for my symptoms?
The front desk is not allowed to provide specific medical advice. However, we advise you to hydrate and hold tight. We'll be able to see you as soon as possible
-
What if I just want a body scan?
Please call the front desk and we can get you scheduled for a body scan. Our 3D body scanner appointments currently cannot be made through our online booking software.
-
Can I get on Shannon's schedule?
Shannon's schedule is somewhat limited due to her administrative and university commitments. However, there are a small number of appointments available, and we'd be happy to submit a request for you to see her.
If you're needing to be seen sooner, we recommend scheduling with another provider on our team, as they may have more immediate availability.
-
What happens if my provider goes on vacation or leaves the practice?
We maintain a team of providers so that you always have access to care. If your primary provider is unavailable, another qualified member of our clinical team will be available to see you. We will always communicate any provider changes in advance and ensure continuity of your care.
-
Do you offer telehealth or virtual visits?
Yes, we offer telehealth visits for appropriate concerns. Simple telehealth visits are $99, and more complex visits are $179 for guests. Members receive telehealth visits at no additional cost. Virtual care is a great option for follow-ups, medication questions, or minor illnesses where you prefer not to come in.

Membership
-
What is the Membership?
At ZüpMed, Membership means more than access to care – it means a relationship with a medical team that knows you, values your time, and prioritizes your health. As a Member, you choose the level of service that best fits your lifestyle, goals, and how you prefer to receive care.
We offer two primary Membership options – Urgent Care and Comprehensive Health. Each is designed with transparent pricing, easy access, and personalized support.
https://zupmed.com/Memberships/
-
What are the benefits of Membership? Do you offer any preferred pricing for Members?
We offer two primary Membership options – Urgent Care and Comprehensive Health. Each is designed with transparent pricing, easy access, and personalized support. Members are granted priority access to our providers, same or next day.
Comprehensive Members pay no visit fees for urgent or primary care appointments. Urgent Care Members pay no visit fees for urgent care. Members also receive preferred pricing on labs, prescription and over the counter medications, supplements, and ancillary services including Botox. Specialty pricing is based upon the type of Membership.
https://zupmed.com/Memberships/
-
What is the difference between the two Membership Tiers?
**Urgent Care Membership** is designed for convenient, on-demand care when you need it most. It includes unlimited same-day or next-business-day urgent care and telehealth visits, along with annual wellness vaccinations and discounted pricing on house calls and retail services. This option is ideal if you're generally healthy and looking for reliable, quick access to care for unexpected illnesses or minor concerns.
**Comprehensive Health Membership** includes everything in the Urgent Care Membership, but expands into full-service, ongoing care. In addition to unlimited visits, it offers management of chronic conditions, medication optimization with a clinical pharmacist, annual physical exams, and support for services like weight management and school or pre-operative physicals. You'll also have a dedicated Health Ambassador to help coordinate your care. This Membership is best suited for those who want a more proactive, continuous approach to their health.
-
I have ADHD. Which membership is right for me?
Patients with ADHD who need ongoing medication management — including stimulant prescriptions — are best served by the Comprehensive Health Membership, which includes medication management and access to our clinical pharmacist team. Controlled substance prescriptions require regular follow-up visits and cannot be managed under the Urgent Care Membership alone. We would be happy to discuss your specific needs during a consultation.
-
Do I have to be a Member to be seen?
No, you can be seen as a Guest. Membership is helpful for patients who want ongoing care and added benefits.
Show 6 more Show fewer
-
How do I sign up for Membership?
You can begin by completing a Membership Application (link available here): https://zupmed.com/Memberships/
The Membership Application helps us to understand your reasons for joining and match you with the right level of care. If ZüpMed is a good fit for you, we'll invite you to meet with our Member Services Specialist to begin your personalized Membership experience.
-
Why do I have to apply for Membership?
The Membership Application allows us to better understand your goals and reasons for joining, so we can match you with the most appropriate level of care. Because our model is designed to provide personalized access and a high standard of service, we may not be the best fit for every patient. The application process helps ensure that we can meet each Member's needs and deliver the level of care you deserve. We also limit the number of new Memberships we accept each year to maintain quality and access. If we are not currently accepting new Members, completed applications are automatically placed on our waiting list.
-
How do I cancel my Membership?
You may cancel your Membership at any time by emailing the Clinic at concierge@zupmed.com or lsmith@zupmed.com at least five (5) days prior to the end of the current billing cycle. Unless otherwise agreed, cancellation takes effect on the last day of the current billing cycle after the Clinic receives notice. No Membership fees will be charged after the effective cancellation date. The Clinic will retain payments received before that date.
-
I received an email stating my Membership was cancelled but I did not cancel my Membership.
Our Membership payments are managed through our electronic medical record system, which requires billing plans to renew every 12 months. When your renewal date arrives, we will create a new plan for you in the system. During this process, you may receive an automatic notification stating that your Membership has been "cancelled." Please note—this message is generated by the software and simply reflects the transition to your new plan. There is no interruption to your Membership, and you will continue to have full access to care as long as your payment plan remains active. If you have any questions or concerns, our front desk concierge team is always happy to assist you.
-
How is ZüpMed's Membership different from traditional health insurance?
Health insurance is designed to pay for care after something goes wrong. In today's world, the high cost of medical care demands that you have some form of coverage in case of a catastrophic illness or injury. On the other hand, ZüpMed's Membership is designed to *keep* you healthy and give you direct access to medical professionals who know you. With insurance, you often face copays, deductibles, surprise bills, and prior authorizations. With ZüpMed, pricing is transparent, visits are unhurried, and you are never a stranger to your care team.
-
Can I use my ZüpMed Membership alongside my existing health insurance?
Yes. We believe that today's high cost of medical care demands that you have some form of coverage in the case of a catastrophic injury or illness. So, most of our Members have a separate health insurance plan that they use for hospitalizations, surgeries, or specialist care and use their ZüpMed Comprehensive or Urgent Care Memberships for primary, preventative, and acute care. The two work well together. We can also provide a Super Bill for any visit so you may seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer.

-
Can you do stiches?
Yes, we can evaluate and treat cuts using stitches, staples, or medical adhesive, depending on what's most appropriate.
-
Do you test for STDs/STIs? What types of testing do you offer and how is it conducted?
Yes, we offer testing for sexually transmitted infections. All testing is conducted in a private, confidential setting. Depending on your preferences, we can utilize cash-pay laboratory services that are not billed through insurance to help maintain additional privacy.
-
Do you perform swabs for thrush or yeast infections of the mouth?
Yes, we can evaluate for thrush and other infections of the mouth that require swabbing, like Strep. This would be included in an Urgent Care Visit.
-
Can I get a mold test there?
Yes, mold testing is offered if clinically appropriate. This is considered a Specialty Test.
-
Do you have a counselor?
We do not currently offer behavioral health counseling. We do work closely, however, with Memphis area counselors so that your treatment is coordinated. We do offer an integrative behavioral health visit and can offer pharmacogenomic testing to help ensure appropriate medication if needed for mental health reasons.
-
Do you have a dietician?
No, we do not. We believe in a food first approach, however, and will support and promote healthy eating behaviors. We have unique knowledge and experience in the gut microbiome and will use stool testing and laboratory data to help heal the gut when leaky gut is present.
-
Do you offer psychiatric care?
We do not provide traditional psychiatric care or therapy, but we can take care of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. We also offer pharmacogenomic testing that can be transformative for patients. Our Mental Health Genetic Testing analyzes 26 genes to help identify which psychiatric medications are likely to be most effective and best tolerated for you specifically. This testing is particularly valuable for patients who have tried multiple medications without success or who wish to pre-emptively avoid the trial and error approach to mental health medications.
-
Can ZüpMed manage my chronic conditions like hypertension, asthma, or diabetes?
Yes. Comprehensive Health Members receive ongoing management of chronic conditions as part of their membership. This includes regular monitoring, medication optimization by our clinical pharmacist team, and proactive care to prevent complications. Many of our members with chronic conditions find that having a provider who truly knows their history — and has the time to address their concerns — leads to significantly better outcomes than the traditional model.
-
Do you take insurance? Why can't you charge my insurance?
No, we use transparent cash pricing instead of billing insurance directly. ZüpMed does not accept or participate in any insurance contracts (including Medicare). By not accepting insurance, we significantly lower overhead costs, allowing us to spend more time with you and provide better value. However, we will provide you with a fully itemized statement ("Super Bill") after your visit that you can submit to your insurance carrier for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Why don't you take insurance?
Our model allows us to keep pricing simple, transparent, and focused on patient care rather than spending our time navigating insurance rules and restrictions. We do not bill insurance directly. You will pay at the time of service, and we can provide a "Super Bill" for you to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.
-
What is a Super Bill and how do I use it for insurance reimbursement?
A "Super Bill" is a fully itemized statement of your visit that includes all the diagnostic codes and service details your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. We provide this at your request after any visit. You then submit it directly to your insurance carrier. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, however, and depends on your specific plan.
-
What do I need to get reimbursement from my insurance company for my visit today?
At your request, we will provide you with a fully itemized statement, which we call a "Super Bill", at the end of your visit. You can submit this document directly to your insurance carrier. While we will help in any way we can, ZüpMed makes no promise as to what and how much will be reimbursed.
-
Can I use my HSA (Health Savings Account) to pay? / Can I use my HSA for a visit? For Membership? for labs? for supplements?
Yes, you may. And thanks to a law that was passed as of January 1, 2026, you can even use your HSA for Membership, too. Some HSA programs have restrictions on supplements, but if your supplement is included as a part of your medication plan, you may use your HSA card to cover its cost.
-
Do you have a cash pay option?
Yes! All of our services are self-pay (cash, credit, or HSA/FSA where applicable). We offer transparent, flat-rate pricing for all our services.
-
Why did I receive an outstanding balance from ZüpMed?
Blame our software! If you are in our Membership programs or Weight Loss program, our electronic medical record notes your Membership Fee as an outstanding balance. You do not owe this at one time! In fact, your Membership fee will be taken out monthly at the first of each month. The balance is what you would owe if you remain in our Membership program for the remainder of the year.
-
I have a question about a lab bill. Who may I speak to about that?
Simply call our front desk and one of our front desk concierges, our Member Services Specialist, or our Practice Manager will be happy to help.
13 questions
Labs & Testing
-
Do labs require fasting?
Some labs require fasting for 8–12 hours. We'll let you know when scheduling.
-
Can I just come for labs?
If your provider has ordered labs, yes. Otherwise, you'll need a visit first so the provider can determine what's needed.
-
How much will the labs cost me? Can you offer me a cash price?
Lab pricing varies depending on the test. If you choose to submit your labs to your insurance plan, coverage is determined entirely by your insurance company and is not guaranteed. We can provide a cash price for most labs before ordering. In many cases, choosing cash pricing at the time of service can be significantly less expensive than going through insurance and receiving denied coverage.
-
Can you tell me if my insurance will cover my labs?
In some cases, we can confidently expect that your labs will be covered by your insurance. However, coverage is determined entirely by your insurance company, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
If we anticipate that a lab may not be covered, we will review that with you in advance and offer a transparent cash price option.
-
What type of genetic testing do you offer?
We offer several types of genetic testing designed to provide personalized insights into your health:
- **Mental Health Genetic Testing** analyzes 26 genes to help guide medication selection for conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and pain management. This testing can help identify which medications may be more effective and better tolerated for you. - **Cardiometabolic Genetic Testing** is designed for patients with or at risk for conditions like hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol, blood clotting disorders, Alzheimer's disease, and diabetes. It provides insight into your genetic risk and helps guide prevention and treatment strategies. - **Nutrigenomic Testing** evaluates how your individual genes influence how your body responds to nutrients, supplements, and dietary patterns. Our nutrigenomic testing helps identify which vitamins and minerals your body may not be absorbing or utilizing efficiently, and which dietary approaches are best suited to your genetic makeup. This allows our pharmacists to build a supplement and nutrition plan that is truly personalized, rather than generic.
Show 8 more Show fewer
-
What is pharmacogenetic testing and how can it help with patients?
Pharmacogenomics is the study of how your genes affect your response to medications. Your genetic makeup influences how your body absorbs, metabolizes, and responds to drugs — which is why the same medication can work beautifully for one person and cause side effects in another. Our pharmacogenomic testing helps your providers choose medications that are more likely to work for you and less likely to cause adverse effects. This is especially valuable for mental health medications, cardiovascular drugs, and pain management.
-
What is the full cost of the Genomind consultation and test?
Genomind testing includes two required visits (an initial consultation and a follow-up to review results) plus the lab fee.
- Visits: $159 (CHM), $169 (UCM), or $179 (Guests) each - Lab fee: $399
Total cost typically ranges from **$717–$757**, depending on your Membership type.
This process ensures we not only obtain your genetic results, but also take the time to interpret them and guide any necessary changes to your treatment plan.
-
What is Galleri testing and how much does it cost?
**Galleri testing** is a multi-cancer early detection blood test that screens for signals associated with more than 50 types of cancer—often before symptoms appear. It works by analyzing DNA fragments in the blood that may indicate the presence of cancer and can also help identify where in the body the signal is coming from.
It's important to note that Galleri is a screening tool, not a diagnostic test, so any positive result would require follow-up testing for confirmation.
The cost of Galleri testing at our clinic is **$849**.
-
Do I need to fast before the Galleri test?
No, fasting is not required.
-
What is a Spectracell test? How much does it cost?
This test is a micronutrient test that measures intracellular levels of vitamins and nutrients. ("Intracellular" means "inside the cells".) Results help evaluate how vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients are actually functioning within your white blood cells, providing a more comprehensive and accurate assessment of your nutritional status than standard blood levels alone.
-
What is a DUTCH test? How does the visit work?
The **DUTCH test** (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is a specialized hormone test that uses dried urine samples collected at home. It provides a detailed look at hormone levels and patterns, including cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and their metabolites. This allows providers to assess hormone balance, adrenal function, and how your body is processing hormones. It's commonly used to help evaluate concerns such as fatigue, stress, weight changes, mood issues, sleep disturbances, and hormonal imbalances. The test is ordered by a provider during your visit. The cost is $550, which includes the test itself and a follow-up visit to review your results and discuss next steps.
-
What is the difference between a wellness visit and an annual physical and what's included?
In traditional insurance-based medicine, a "wellness visit" is a specific billing code that often prevents your doctor from addressing your actual health concerns during the same appointment—which frustrates many patients. At ZüpMed, our comprehensive annual physical is a true "head-to-toe" assessment and exam. It includes a thorough review of your medical history, cardiovascular and metabolic screening, age-appropriate preventative recommendations, and a personalized plan focused on your long-term health and longevity. There are no insurance-imposed limits on what we discuss.
-
Do you offer any services focused on longevity or proactive health optimization?
Yes. Proactive, preventive care is central to the ZüpMed philosophy. Beyond standard annual exams, we offer advanced diagnostics including micronutrient testing (SpectraCell), multi-cancer early detection screening (Galleri), pharmacogenomic testing, hormone optimization, and integrative gut health testing. Our Comprehensive Health Members work with the Member's dedicated Health Ambassador to build a long-term wellness plan.
10 questions
Medications & Pharmacy
-
How can I get a medication refill?
You can request a refill through the Patient Portal or by calling the clinic. Please note that patients needing refills for ongoing conditions, such as ADHD, must be enrolled in our Comprehensive Health Membership. Depending on the medication and the timing of your last visit, an appointment may be required before your refill can be approved.
-
Why do I need to be seen or labs drawn in order to get a medication refill?
For your safety as well as to comply with regulations and accepted medical standards, our providers need to monitor your condition and ensure the medication is still appropriate and not causing adverse effects. This often requires periodic exams and lab work.
-
Can you refill meds if I'm not a patient?
We would need to establish care with a visit before prescribing any medication.
-
Can you call pharmacies to find meds?
Unfortunately, time does not allow our staff to call around for prescriptions. We recommend that you contact pharmacies directly to see if a certain medication is in stock.
-
Can you fill a prescription for me?
No. We have an in-house dispensary for our patients, but we are not a retail pharmacy and cannot fill prescriptions written by outside doctors.
Show 5 more Show fewer
-
Can you help me fill my Zepbound from a prescription written by another doctor?
No. We cannot fill outside prescriptions. You would need to establish care with us and join our Weight Loss Program for us to manage and dispense weight loss medications.
-
How much are your in-house medications?
Prices vary by medication, but we offer them at highly competitive, transparent rates for our patients. ZüpMed medication prices are often less than the copay charged by pharmacies.
-
How often do you need to see me if I need a prescription for a controlled substance?
For safety and to comply with state guidelines, patients are typically required to have regular follow-up visits. The exact timing depends on the medication and your individual treatment plan, and your provider will let you know how often you need to be seen.
-
I've just moved to town and need medication refills until I can get established with another doctor. Can you see me in order to provide medication continuation?
Yes, we can see you for a primary or urgent care visit to evaluate your condition and provide a bridge prescription if medically appropriate while you establish care with another provider.
-
My relative has the flu and I was exposed. Can I get preventative Tamiflu or Xofluza?
If you've been exposed to the flu, you'll need to schedule a visit—either in person or via telehealth—so a provider can evaluate your risk and determine if medication like Xofluza or Tamiflu is appropriate.

Weight Loss & GLP-1s
-
Do you offer weight loss shots?
Yes, we offer a physician-directed weight management program with evaluation, medication guidance, and ongoing support. Our weight loss program is designed to help patients achieve meaningful lasting change. Patients enrolled in our program receive weekly accountability check-ins, individualized medical guidance, and weight-loss medications when clinically appropriate. https://zupmed.com/zupmed-weightloss-program/
-
How much do GLP-1s cost?
Costs vary depending on the treatment plan and prescription coverage determined by your insurance. We'll review pricing during your consultation.
-
What is the difference between the GLP-1 weight loss medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound?
Great question! You can read about the differences here: https://zupmed.com/weight-loss-shots-memphis/
The right choice depends on your health history, insurance situation, and individual response. Our providers will guide you through this decision during your consultation.
-
Can I just get a weight-loss shot?
Weight loss injections like semaglutide and tirzepatide require a provider visit to make sure they're safe and appropriate. Once stable, your provider may only want to see you at predetermined time intervals, and you may pick up stable medication doses between appointments.
-
Who qualifies for GLP-1 weight loss medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound?
GLP-1 medications can be a powerful tool for weight loss—but they're just one part of a comprehensive, medically guided program. You can read about who might benefit here: https://zupmed.com/weight-loss-shots-memphis/
We don't take a one-size-fits-all approach. Our priority is building a safe, effective plan tailored specifically to you—which may or may not include medication. Every recommendation we make is grounded in clinical oversight and designed to support sustainable, long-term results.
Your safety, progress, and overall health always come first.
Show 3 more Show fewer
-
What are the side effects of the GLP-1 medications and how do you manage them?
GLP-1 medications are generally well tolerated, but like any treatment, they can come with side effects—especially as your body adjusts. You can read more about potential side effects (and their management) here: https://zupmed.com/weight-loss-shots-memphis/
At ZupMed, you're never navigating this alone. Our physician-led team and clinical pharmacists closely monitor your progress and tailor your dosing schedule to help minimize side effects while keeping you on track toward your goals. We also provide personalized nutrition guidance—especially around protein intake—to support muscle preservation and overall wellness during weight loss.
If side effects become more significant, we offer additional support, including IV therapy for patients experiencing severe nausea, vomiting, or dehydration. This allows us to quickly rehydrate you and help you feel better so you can safely continue your program.
Our approach is proactive, supportive, and always centered on your safety and long-term success.

What happens when I stop taking a GLP-1 medication? Will I regain the weight?
That's a common question, and one of the most important conversations we have with our patients. It's a key part of how we work to help you achieve long-term success. Read about our approach and suggestions for success here: https://zupmed.com/weight-loss-shots-memphis/
Research shows that some weight regain can occur after stopping GLP-1 medications, especially if sustainable habits aren't in place. That's why, at ZupMed, we focus on much more than just prescribing medication. From day one, we're helping you build the nutrition, lifestyle, and behavioral strategies needed to support lasting results.
Our program places a strong emphasis on the transition into maintenance. For many patients, that doesn't mean simply stopping treatment—it may involve a different approach, such as a lower or less frequent dose, or a structured plan tailored to your body and goals.
Our goal is to help you not only lose weight, but keep it off in a way that's realistic, sustainable, and medically supported.
